“All which I feel I must write has become obsessive. So many truths seem to be rushing at me as the result of things felt and seen and lived through. Oh, what I think I must tell this world”
~Lorraine Hansberry.

As a Black gay playwright, I am obsessive in the same vein as Lorraine Hansberry. I write because the world
I create for the stage is the world I envision, and at times, I live in it. I strived for what some deem a Utopian world where race does not matter. However, it does, it has, and may always matter to some, but when it comes to love, it should not matter. Interracial love is not an experiment or a form of rebellion. It is the acknowledgement that love has no color; love is colorblind.

That is why we, the founders, are thrilled to announce the formation of Theatre Noir Blanc. We are a new theatre company based in Dallas, Texas. The idea behind the formation of this theatre stems from a passion to share with the world powerful stories that explore the depth of gay interracial love, which has been overlooked and marginalized in theater productions. These stories are universal, relatable, and everywhere, and it is our mission to tell them. Our vision for Theatre Noir Blanc is to be a vibrant, inclusive, and diverse home where bold stories are told, amplifying the message that love is seductively blind, with color no consideration, no obstacle, no barrier; that love sees through a heightened lens and delights in the surface and the depth in equal parts. We are committed to producing only original works by national and international playwrights that reflect the richness and complexity of a diverse world.
