A commitment to inclusion, creativity, and advocacy is the cornerstone of Theatre Noir Using initiatives like our LGBTQ playwright fellowship, we enable emerging and established writers to refine their stories and connect with audiences who value authenticity.
Our focus extends beyond identity, we champion writers who explore intersectional experiences, challenge conventions, and use theatre to spark empathy and awareness. In addition to examining identity, we champion writers that challenge conventions and use theatre as a vehicle for advancing empathy and awareness.
All submissions, no matter how long or short, expand the narrative of queer theatre.
Submitting your work to Theatre Noir Blanc is simple and accessible.
Theatre Noir Blanc actively hosts one-act play contests that spotlight fresh voices and provide professional feedback from directors and dramaturgs. Selected works are invited for staged readings or full productions, giving writers a chance to see their words interpreted by seasoned actors.
Past participants have gone on to collaborate on new projects, win local theatre awards, and have their work featured in Dallas’s leading festivals for independent arts.
Beyond competitions, the LGBTQ playwright fellowship offers long-term mentorship. Fellows work directly with Theatre Noir Blanc’s creative team to refine scripts, workshop scenes, and navigate the business of theatre production.
It’s an opportunity for meaningful growth, designed to turn potential into performance. Writers gain practical insight into directing, casting, and audience engagement ,skills that extend far beyond the stage.
Our goal is to create a pipeline for diverse voices in theatre writing ,voices that reflect the world as it truly is: complex, beautiful, and unapologetically diverse.
When audiences see themselves represented, something powerful happens. They connect. They heal. They believe that their own stories matter. That’s the kind of theatre we strive to create, and it all begins with writers like you.
Your words have the power to move hearts, change minds, and shape culture. If you have a story that speaks to identity, resilience or the pursuit of belonging, we want to hear it.
